Water Breath Technique

The name Water Breath derives directly from the Water Method of Taoism and breathing methods of Qigong meditation. Water Breath Technique revolves around the principle of circular transfer of central energy, emphasising on breathing technique and moving meditation to refine on mental and physical agility. Water Breath Technique is greatly influenced by Eastern methodologies and ideologies stemming from Taichi, Bagua, Qigong, Water Method of Taoism and Aikido. Coupled with physical influences from Acrobatics, Capoeira and Contemporary Dance of the West. Water Breath Technique seeks to work within a smooth mental and physical continuum, with awareness of the entire body whilst extending to the outside world, hence activating a totality of body, mind and spirit. Particularly resonating with the Water Element and operates as an imagery armour around and about the body, as Water Breath style incorporates Micro-Acrobatics(Microbatics) and Capoeira which requires high intensity and power. Water Breath’s core principle draws directly from Yang-Style Taichi, the freedom and flow as if moving lazily on a still lake in contrast to the rotation, spirals and unpredictability of Bagua, much like canoeing through a water vortex. The technique emphasises on a mental and physical continuum that feels as if it has no beginning or end, drawing inspiration from Taichi. The calmer and more relaxed we are, the more our energy can circulate abundantly. Disruptions to the mind and body are like blockages to the channel of a river stream, by disciplining the mind and body to concentrate on the breath and intaking nature energy, are we then able to remove the blockages and heightened our cognitive processes and five senses.
